Kazbegi Monochrome
The famous peak of Mount Kazbeg is often obscured by cloud so whenever you go there you’re not quite sure what you’re going to see. We had arranged to go on a shooting trip for my friends tourism agency where we aimed to capture the best of the High Caucasus Mountains to show on his website, usually for jobs like this I shoot digital but thanks to the luxury of travelling by car I could take some film cameras with me and this is how we come to this incredible sharp monochrome image of Kazbeg that I shot using by 70 year old Rolleiflex, it produces a look quite different to modern cameras and I think that’s visible on this lovely square format photo that I never tire of spotting details in.
