About Adrian:

Born in Westminster, London in 1978 and based in between London, UK and Tbilisi, Georgia, for the past thirteen years:
I work with light.

In commercial photography my work is concentrated on portraiture & commissions for private clients, Utmost discretion is held.

I work with Medium Format and 35mm film alongside digital cameras and a wide array of top quality optics, always with the intention of delivering realistic and consistent images that stand the test of time.

From 1996 - 2000 I studied at Aston University, Birmingham and then moved to the Eastern Germany | Poland border region, following this I lived in Berlin and London followed by Tirol in the Austrian Alps. More recently, I moved to Tbilisi, Georgia which has been my base since 2013. After a thirteen year hiatus I call Albion home now, but of course I am flexible in how I travel.

Taking photos on film on SLRs since 1991 - I got serious about photography in Germany in the late 1990s and turned professional in 2014 forming Tbilisi Portraits and also teaching teenagers how to look, see and capture moments perfectly.
His work is about making the most of available light as possible and seeking out beauty no matter the setting. Keeping work true-to-life and as natural as possible because this is the truest expression of using a camera to capture moments in time with as few distractions from the subject as possible.

As an autodidact in design & marketing who’s worked across continents on numerous projects my aesthetic preferences are to use whitespace optimally to ensure my work is as well composed as possible utilising time-honoured “classic” techniques that lead the viewers eye within the image. Gallerists have noted that my work has a “British Aesthetic” which is likely inspired by an intense visual education via print-journals in Music, Fashion, Lifestyle & Travel in the 1980’s & 1990’s.

Alongside commissioned work, I create long-term projects focused on Georgia’s cityscapes and rural life, exploring atmosphere, light and the quiet tension between progress and tradition. These images form the basis of my limited and open edition prints, which are represented by Fotografia Gallery, Tbilisi, where I’ve been a photographer in residence since 2018.
